THE MATERIAL

Egyptian cotton earned its name honestly. The long staple fibres grown in the Nile Delta spin into yarn with fewer exposed ends, which is why the fabric stays smooth where shorter staple cotton pills, and why it grows softer with washing instead of thinner.

We buy from the Delta and we weave in Egypt. Nothing is finished elsewhere and relabelled. Every Picarde piece is designed with architectural discipline and emotional tactility, woven, finished, and detailed here.
